Bridges offers several different programs and services geared toward helping out families with children under the age of 18 or expecting mothers by building on the family’s strengths.
CORE offers a variety of programs and services for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Their goal is to promote growth through support, advocacy, encouragement, and education.
The food bank offers support through programs and services geared towards supplying food to a variety of individuals and families, providing lunches to children in school, culinary education, and healthy living.
The Miywasin Friendship Centre offers a variety of Indigenous supports and services, including Elder’s and youth programming, Indigenous cultural activities and events, transitional housing, and counselling supports. Follow their Facebook page for more information and updates.
SAAMIS provides assistance through integration, adjustment, and resettlement to individuals and families who have immigrated from other countries or who have sought refuge from dangerous environments.
United Way invests in over 30 programs and several collaborative initiatives in 3 areas proven to be the foundational building blocks of healthy lives and communities: children and youth, financial stability and community wellness.
Health & Safety Resources
Kids Help Phone provides information and services for youth and children on bullying, emotional well-being, identity, relationships, family, among other topics. They also offer support and free counselling services for young people via phone, text, and online chat.
Mentor International provides individuals with education tools for young people regarding preparation for adulthood, promoting healthy lifestyles, and reducing risky behaviours, such as drug use.
The Ministry of Children’s Services in Alberta leads child care and intervention, early childhood development, foster and kinship care, adoption, and improvements for children and youth. They provide a variety of services for families with children and youth.
